Walks

For a selection of great walks along the Grand Western, just follow the link above to the DCC website! There's plenty to see.

Birds

Birds are a feature of any walk or paddle along the Grand Western, from the unmissable swans to furtive king-fishers and any number of species in between.

Mammals

If you are very lucky, you may spot an otter.  Squirrels, a range of water-side rodents and deer all live alongside the canal at different times of the year.

Fishing

Insects

Dragon-flies, May-flies, Damsel-flies, midges, mosquitoes - you name it, they are all here enchanting the visitor, feeding the fish or irritating the skin!

The Grand Western has some of the best fishing in the area. Click on the pike for information on how to join the Tiverton & District Angling Club.
